By now every student should have secured a work experience placement. The expectation is that all year 10 students will participate in work experience. Year 10 work experience will be taking place in week 8. For a student to be eligible to continue to study a particular subject the following year they must achieve C+ or above in their exam and term grades. Additionally at Modbury High school exam results are used to determine students’ ability to continue with a given subject in the following year. As well exams allow students to demonstrate their abilities, consolidate their learning and showcase their academic progress. You will find a copy of the roster at the end of this newsletter.Įxams provide students with the opportunity to evaluate their understanding and knowledge of the subject. An exam roster has been provided to the students. Year 11 exams will be taking place in week 8. This feedback as well as the parent feedback will be incorporated in our teaching and learning agreement which we hope to have finalised by the end of term 4. The feedback from students has been collated and will be shared with staff during our next meeting. The final student forum took place on Monday 5 June. Thank you also to all the year 12 teachers who attended the evening and joined the year 12 students to celebrate this very important milestone. It was pleasing to see the close connections the students have built with their classmates and their teachers and the fun that they were all having together.Ī very big thank you to Year Level Leader Madelin O’ Brien Dent, Ms Caitlin Thomas, Mr David Atterton (who emceed for the night) and the formal committee for their outstanding planning and organisation.
The students looked amazing in their beautiful dresses and suits. The evening was truly a memorable occasion, filled with lots of laughter and fun. I am delighted to share the success of the year 12 formal, held on Friday 29 May. Each grade entered into DayMap can contribute to the cumulative grade for each individual student and thus they are able to get an understanding of their current overall grade at that point in time.I am excited to share with you a recap of the events that unfolded have occurred over the past few weeks at our school. And the grade is always placed timely up onto DayMap for students and parents/caregiver to review. Summative Assessments which has been used include but are not limited to:įeedback gets delivered back to the student on the assessment piece either via hardcopy or via electronic copy on DayMap. Or through the use of game type web-based applications such as Kahoot Revision questions during topics which then get answered together as a classĮither through individual completion for homework.Formative tests, which provide feedback in both what the student knows and does not know.Formative practical reports with lots of written feedback.Such Formative Assessments have included but are not limited to: I have been using a range of effective strategies to provided targeted feedback to each student, especially in order to progress their learning.
